Mason Michalec is a 2016 IF/RHP with a 5-11 180 lb. frame from Boerne, TX who attends Boerne - Samuel V Champion. Medium, athletic build with broad shoulders and present strength throughout build. Ran a 6.90 60-yard dash. Primary infielder, stays short in the back with arm action and has a lower slot release, gets on top of the ball well creating strength and accuracy across. Present carry and moves well on charge. Also pitched, throws from a high three-quarter arm slot with a short arm circle and tight release. Stays tall on backside, rotates hips well and shows ability to pitch to both sides of the plate. Works downhill, commands fastball well, up to 81 mph with running life. Nice feel for curveball, features 11-5 shape with some depth to it. Right-handed hitter, starts with an upright stance and high leg lift trigger. Works through the ball and shows a short path to the ball. Line drive swing plane, shows strength to pull side but can go to either gap. Projects for more strength with additional lower half incorporated, has carry to pull side and shows patient approach. Excellent student.
