Orie King is a 5'11"/165, (2008), RHP from Robertsdale, AL. On the mound he showed 81-79fb with good command and heavy sink, a hard sharp 71-66cb, and late down action on a 71 change up. He can move the ball around the zone and has a lot of lloks to get hitters out. He throws from a 3/4 arm slot with quick arm speed and compact arm action. He has a smooth delivery and gets a lot of ground balls. Has powerful legs and throws a heavy ball. Balanced delivery with very good extention at release. Attacks hitter with fb. He can also swing the bat. A RH hitter with strong hands and good bat speed. he has good extention through contact and attacks the baseball. He squares up well on the ball even though hit stride foot is late on some pitches. He hands work well and go after the ball. In the OF he showed pro leve arm strength with nice carry on throws. Does waste some step but is very good for a primary pitcher. Named to Top Prospect Game. Potential National Level player.
