2005 Atlantic Coast Top Prospect Showcase
Riffee is a 6-2, 175 lb left handed outfeilder from Virginia with a projectable body and build. He was injured early in the showcase but showed interesting tools during the first day's workout and games. Riffee ran the 60 in 7.25 and threw a solid 80 mph during outfield drills. During batting practice Riffee hit with an early load and generated bat speed with strong hands to the ball. He lacks ideal extension right now but should be able to make adjustments that will add more power to his swing. We'd like to see more of this young left handed hitter in the future; he looks like a good follow. Riffee is also an excellent student.
