Maxwell Hines is a 2017 SS/3B, 2B with a 5-10 150 lb. frame from New York, NY who attends High School For Math, Science And Engineering. Medium, athletic build with a young, projectable frame with room to fill out with additional strength. Primary shortstop, takes longer strides to the ball and stayed balanced charging in, shows good carry on throws when on top of carry, accurate across, arm strength will continue to develop. Right-handed hitter, starts with hands away from body and a small leg lift trigger at beginning for timing. Wrapped start, line drive swing plane, occasionally opens front side early but creates extension and consistent line drive contact to middle of the field. Shows a feel for the barrel and has the feel to hit to opposite field. Good student.
