Carey Belter is a 2006 RHP from East Coweta High School in Newnan, Georgia, with a 6'3'', 185 lb. frame. Belter has a great pitcher's body with long levers and room to grow. He has a very loose arm and an easy delivery with smooth and effortless mechanics. He could use his body to his advantage more by utilizing more of his lower half. Carey throws a very heavy fastball at 82 mph that has good late life to it and his low 3/4 arm slot helps out with the movement on his ball. He throws a split at 69 mph with good, hard tumble on it. Belter's breaking ball is solid, but he has the tendency to cut off the pitch and not getting as tight of a break as he should. Belter has good control of all three pitches and shows pitchability. He is a very projectable pitcher with upside, and is a very good student as well.
