Juan Diego Molina Estrella is a 2016 OF/2B with a 5-7 148 lb. frame from Santo Domingo, DOM who attends Notre Dame. Compact frame, good strength in build, plays up in game-action. Right handed hitter, wide base with high hands set. Toe-tap timing mechanism, aggressive weight shift, gets spread at contact. Line-drive swing plane, long fluid swing, shows solid bat speed, ability to use the whole field with strength and carry off of the barrel. Primary outfielder, waits back on ball, shows ability to work through the ball with developing footwork, big crow hop. Works to an overhand armslot, shows some carry on throws when hand is on top of the ball, up to 81 mph from the outfield in defensive drills. Still feeling way into infield, developing footwork, long transfer that takes time. Very good student.
