Van Schuler is a 2017 OF/IF with a 5-9 135 lb. frame from Gaithersburg, MD who attends The Heights. Small frame, young body with a lot of remaining physical projection. Hits from a narrow upright stance, two part swing with separation of upper and lower halves, good swing path, direct to the ball with good extension through contact. Works through the baseball well defensively in the infield, more polished actions at secondary positions (infield), long arm action, projectable arm strength.
