Kodai Hori is a 2016 RHP with a 6-0 165 lb. frame from Kawakami-Gun, Hokkaido, JPN who attends Obihiro Sanjyo HS. Medium, athletic frame with long, lean limbs and a projectable frame with room to fill out. Ran a 7.12 60-yard dash. Primary right-handed pitcher, hides the ball well through the back creating good deception to a tight three-quarter release. Smooth, steady tempo'd delivery, slight pause at top of delivery, stays in line, occasionally throws across body. Has understanding of how to pitch, will add and subtract from fastball, topped out at 84 mph, shows late life through the zone and gets on hitters quick. Mixes well and shows ability to throw to both sides of plate, curveball shows sharp 11-5 shape with tight rotation and good depth, slider shows more sweeping plane to it but creates tight rotation. Right-handed hitter, starts with upright stance and has upper body swing. Line drive swing plane with high leg lift trigger, gets to front side early at times but shows balance, feel to go to opposite field.
