Delane Estenson is a 2016 3B/RHP, 2B with a 6-2 180 lb. frame from Lubbock, TX who attends Cooper. Large, athletic build with a high waist, long limbs and a lean, projectable frame with room to fill out. Ran a 7.65 60-yard dash. Primary third baseman, fields the ball out front with a wide base, moves well on feet charging in, reads the ball well off the bat, short arm action with quickness to it and strength across the diamond, taller at release. Also pitched, short and tight arm action from a mid three-quarter slot Remains tall on backside before coming to plate, fastball topped out at 82 mph and showed riding life, flashed a curveball with depth at 74 mph. Left-handed hitter, starts with a high hand and elbow set away from body. Short and direct bat path to ball, line drive swing plane with a quick barrel through the zone. Has a feel for the barrel, coves the plate well, and shows comfort and the ability to hit to all fields. Good student.
