Joey Pudlo is a 2008 OF/P/1B with a 5'10'', 160 lb. frame from Grayslake IL, who attends Carmel Catholic. Pudlo has a medium sized frame with a very lean build. Defensively, Pudlo has solid arm strength with some carry on his throws from the outfield. He makes consistent accurate throws and has solid outfield actions. He moves to the ball well in the outfield covers some ground. At the plate, Pudlo starts with an open stance and uses a no stride approach. He maintains good balance through his swing and loads his hands well to start his swing. He keeps his swing compact and swings on line drive path. Pudlo centers the baseball well and does so on a very consistent basis. He has good hand eye coordination and uses a contact hitters approach. Pudlo pitches from and over the top arm slot with a long arm action. He has good control of his fastball and it is a one plane pitch. He has good feel for his change-up he throws with sink. Pudlo is a very good student.
