Tucker Mai is a 2016 LHP/OF with a 6-3 225 lb. frame from Dubuque, IA who attends Dubuque Senior. Large frame, solid build with present strength. Work fromt eh 3B side while on the mound. Creates direction towards left handed box that produces a cross body arm action. Throws from a high 3/4 slot that creates solid downhill angle at times. Shows a 4-seam fastball that ranged 78-80 mph, topped at 81 mph. Curveball has 11/5 shape with solid spin from the cross body release, topped at 70 mph. Mixes fastball and curveball effectively that produces soft, groundball contact. Tools with continue to improve with mechanical adjustments and future strength. Left handed hitter with coiled front side and deep hand set at load. Compact bat path the contact with early lower half actions. Shows some present pop to pull side when extended through contact. Defensively worked from the OF and 1B. From the outfield shows a quick, compact arm action with on line accuracy, topped at 84 mph. Good mechanics throughout transition with athletic glove actions. At 1B has fluid footwork surrounding the baseball and while setting up for throws at the bag. Hands are stiff at times when ranging to each side. Shows good arms strength with a short arm action, topped at 81 mph across the infield. Good student as well. Tools should continue to develop. Good student.
