Zachary Bodfield is a 2018 SS with a 5-11 150 lb. frame from Lincoln, NE who attends Lincoln Northeast HS. Medium, athletic frame with a young, projectable build, square shoulders and room to fill out with additional strength. Ran a 7.56 60-yard dash. Primary middle infielder, fields the ball out front, does a nice job of getting on top of throws, short arm action with a longer release, accurate across the diamond, arm strength and carry will continue to develop with physical growth. Righthanded hitter, begins with a narrow and upright stance in the box with a high back elbow and medium hand set. Upper body swing with a small toe tap trigger for timing, long swing through the zone with a line drive swing plane. Occasionally opens front shoulder early, displays knowledge of the strike zone, pull side approach and comfort hitting there. Very good student.
