Jared Ortiz is a 2017 C/1B with a 5-8 180 lb. frame from Toa Baja, PR who attends International Baseball Academy. Compact build with the beginnings of some present strength. Right handed hitter, upright stance with a limited shift to contact, rotational upper half swing with an inside hand path, hits to all fields, flashed some lift and carry when pulling the ball. Receives the ball close to his body behind the plate, stands straight up to throw, compact arm action, can improve footwork and momentum on his throws to increase raw arm strength, soft accurate throws. Good student.
