Austen Bishop is a 2019 OF/RHP with a 6-1 180 lb. frame from Millersville, MD who attends Archbishop Spalding. Medium build, some physical present strength with broad shoulders. Ran a 5.19 40 yard dash. Primary outfielder, comes to the ball quickly, could work on breaking down more into gather, upright and narrow fielding position, fields out in front, some effort at release, full arm action up to an over the top slot, average arm strength topped out at 79 mph from the outfield. Also pitched, wide base in starting position, side step up to a belt high leg lift, short arm action up a high 3/4 slot, could get more from front side but arm is continually on time through arm circle, showed good command of fastball especially to armside, good feel for curveball that has some downward shape to it. Righthanded hitter, extra wide base with a slightly open stance, high leg lift trigger with some recoil at load, compact swing with some lift, best when staying back and letting ball travel, pull side approach. Good student.
