2016 South Underclass Showcase
Alex Baez is a 2019 SS/ with a 5-7 125 lb. frame from Fort Worth, TX who attends Chisholm Trail HS. Brought energy to the field with his small frame that shows room to mature physically and athletically. In the infield he has deliberate foot work to the ball, worked around it with momentum to first base, glove is ahead of then arm while both still have plenty of time to develop. At the plate, he has a narrow stance with high hands and raw actions. Begins his load with a toe tap gather to the rear leg, hands drop below the shoulder, strides forward and lands early. The swing path is good and works up to the ball with a feel for contact. Good performance by him over the weekend and still room to project as a player while maturing physically. Good student.
