Brayden Byers is a 2018 LHP/1B with a 5-9 168 lb. frame from Newmarket, ON who attends St. Andrews College. Young medium build, compact arm action with a high 3/4's arm slot, stays on line in his delivery and gets good plane on his pitches, short stride out front with a loose arm. Fastball topped out at 74 mph, has some sink and run, does a nice job of working low in the zone with his fastball and getting hitters to reach. Primary fastball pitcher, mixed in a soft curveball occasionally. Efficient outing. Right handed hitter, upper half rotational swing, line drive swing plane with some bat speed that could improve with more lower half use, like the ball middle in and will show occasional gap power. 7.37 runner. Good student.
