Jared Thurber is a 2017 OF with a 6-3 175 lb. frame from Des Moines, WA who attends John F Kennedy Catholic HS. Tall very projectable athletic build. 7.00 runner, moves smoothly in the outfield to the ball, low compact arm slot, makes soft accurate throws but can improve with a better release point and throwing mechanics. Right handed hitter, has a patient approach and sees the ball, hits from a square balanced stance with a simple load and shift, shows bat speed when he's staying on top of the ball with his hands, tends to drop his back elbow and get under the ball, has the potential to hit with adjustments. Good student.
