Brendan Vandeweghe is a 2019 RHP/1B with a 5-10 210 lb. frame from Spring Lake, MI who attends Grand Haven HS. Strong barrel chested build. Rear back and throw delivery with a big leg raise start, fast paced with lots of energy at release, classic power reliever's mechanics, high 3/4's arm slot creates good downhill plane at times, hides the ball well in back for some deception. Upper 70's fastball, topped out at 80 mph, mostly straight with occasional glove side cutting action. Curveball was better the harder it was thrown, still working on consistency in its release. Right handed hitter, big hand hitch load, uppercut swing plane, swings hard and aggressively looking to drive the ball and flashes some power when squared up. Very good student.
