Bryan Kilgore -- Kilgore was very impressive as an unconventional right hander. He’s a strongly built 6-2, 180 lb right hander with long arms and legs who throws from a sidearm to Larado style release point (about knee level when the ball leaves his hand). His fastball will reach 83 mph with very good running action and when Kilgore brings this pitch inside to right handers at this leve, it’s a straight mismatch. Kilgore’s breaking ball reaches 68-69 mph and has surprisingly good spin from this release point and had plenty of hitters on their heels. Kilgore’s command was inconsistent but his stuff was very hard to hit. This is a young man that the college coaches need to follow up on because he can turn a lineup around with his present stuff. Kind of reminds us of Jay Tessmer, Yankee reliever and former U of Miami pitcher. Bryan might throw a bit harder than Jay.
