Hayden Payne is a 2019 RHP/3B with a 6-1 165 lb. frame from Corinth, TX who attends Lake Dallas HS. Good size with a lean overall build and a high-waisted frame with a ton of room left for physical projection. Primary righthanded pitcher with a long arm action and hides the ball very well. Soft stab in the back of the delivery and throws from an over the top arm action. Works quickly and attacks hitter. Uses his fastball to get ahead and has some good downhill plane on the fastball. Utilized a nice 12/6 curveball with quality depth and some late break to it. Moving parts in the delivery which adds some deception and fastball flashes heaviness low in the one. Good pitchability and sets up hitters well. Secondary third baseman with accurate throws with some carry. Some lateral quickness and moves well at the position. Righthanded hitter with a balanced, even stance. Deeper hand load with a small stride into contact. Excellent student.
