Dean Collum is a 2022 RHP/1B, 3B with a 6-4 240 lb. frame from Holly Springs, NC who attends Holly Springs. Extra-Large frame with a physical, sturdy build. Broad shoulders and high waisted. Ran a 8.14 second sixty yard dash. Primary Righthanded Pitcher, working into a side step and higher leg kick with a balanced look at all times. Quicker paced delivery as he accelerated down the mound. Full arm circle in the back before showing an over the top release. Fluid arm as it is clean out of hand. Ran his fastball up to 83 MPH and mixed in an 11-to-4 breaking ball that kept hitters off-balance. Did a good job of pounding the outer half with the fastball. Secondary Corner Infielder, clean first steps as he worked to and through the baseball well. Glove showing well before he shuffles into throws. Was up to 82 MPH across the diamond on throws. Strength going a long way for him as he has good feel to go with it. Righthanded Hitter, starting from a somewhat open stance with high hands. Longer swing path to the baseball with strength in hands getting the barrel around. Open at contact as he looks to pull the baseball and does so when he gets extended. Ball jumps when he finds barrel. Good Student.
