Michael Cronin is a 2018 OF/1B/RHP with a 6-1 175 lb. frame from Spokane, WA who attends North Central HS. Medium frame with a lean, athletic build. Projects for additional size with strength. Primary outfielder with smooth paced, deliberate footwork while closing to the baseball. Clean glove actions and pick up and worked through transition with fluidity. Recoils while releasing from a high three-quarters arm slot. Throws produced on line carry to the bag at 75 miles per hour. Also worked out defensively from first base showing similar, deliberate footwork while surrounding the baseball. Clean, smooth exchanges. Deep arm circle at separation and released from a low three-quarters slot. Right handed hitter with a slightly crouched, even stance and simple leg lift trigger. Lower half works to contact with rotational actions. Loose, extended path to contact with a level plane through extension. Primarily utilized a mid field, line drive approach. Flashed some jump with carry off the barrel when squared. Also pitched showing a simple rock step delivery. Stays flexed on back side and works to the plate with drop and drive actions. Works over a bent front side while releasing from a three-quarters slot. Fastball created occasional downhill angle through the zone in the mid 60's to low 70's, topped at 71 miles per hour. Curveball had 11/5 shape with softer spin and good depth to the bottom of the zone. Consistently worked in the strike zone with developing feel to the edges. Good student as well.
