Hefler is a good looking big catcher. At 6'3/192 he is proportioned very well with room for added strength. He runs very well for a catcher showing athletic ability. His arm plays, but he needs work on footwork and technique behind the plate. Casey needs to find the best hitting instructor possible. He has a lot of bad habits in his approach and swing mechanics. This is different than a lack of ability. He may very well get by on his present day mechanics at the high school level, but as the pitching becomes much better the problems become more pronounced. Casey is a good athlete with an outstanding athletic body. He needs to take full advantage of that. He's a good student as well.
