Ben Carter is a 2009 SS/3B with a 6'1'', 170 lb. frame from Danville, Kentucky, who attends Boyle County High School. He has a large frame with good projection. Defensively he has solid actions on the left side of the infield showing the ability to make the plays. He has arm strength on his throws across the diamond, and is very accurate. At the plate he is a right handed hitter who hits from a very wide base, and he uses a no stride approach. Carter loads his hands well and has solid bat speed through the hitting zone. When he centers the ball, he makes solid contact and the ball jumps off his bat showing raw power and strength in his swing. He has a line drive swing plane, and he likes the ball on the inner half. He has upside at the plate, and he is a good student as well.
