George Suarez is a 2008 RHP/1B from South Dade High School in Homestead, FL, with a 6'1'', 250 lb. frame. On the mound he throws from a 3/4 arm slot with a slow and deliberate delivery. He has a short arm circle on the back side, and shows good arm speed. Suarez gets late life on his 78 mph fastball with sinking action. He also mixes in a 61 mph breaking ball with rolling action from an 11 to 5 break. Suarez gets off the mound well and covers his position easily. Defensively he has good hands at first base with solid footwork around the bag. He is a right handed hitter with a quiet set up at the plate. He uses a no load, no trigger approach with solid bat speed. Short bat path to the ball, and he is good on balls low in the zone.
