Carlos Calderon is a 6'2" 180 pound 2008 outfielder and right handed pitcher from American Heritage High School in Pembroke Pines, Florida. He has an athletic body that is very lean. Carlos has a pro type body with good present strength. At the plate, he has a calm balanced approach and a tall stance. He has a rotational swing with some loft power. He has good bat speed and the ball jumps off his bat. Calderon gets to the ball very well in the outfield. He has a quick exchange from glove to hand and throws with a short arm. He threw 74 mph from the outfield during the workout and his throws were very accurate. Carlos is a good looking prospect who will continue to improve.
