Austin McGuire is a 5'11" 183 pound 2007 catcher and first baseman from Umatilla High School in Eustis, Florida. He has a strong build with good strength. Austin has good bat speed who took a very good batting practice. He has good balance in his swing and is a high average hitter. He makes hard line drive contact and centers the ball well which makes the ball jump off his bat. He really turns on balls on the inside part of the plate very well and he keeps his hands inside the ball very well also. McGuire is very aggressive behind the plate. He has good quickness which allowed him to record a 2.00 pop time. Austin is a solid hitting catcher who will continue to improve.
