2006 California Underclass
Greg Madsen is a 2007 OF/SS from Viewmont HS, residing in Centerville, UT, with a 5'10" 170 lb. frame. He has an average frame with a medium build and is decently proportioned. On offense he is a rotational type hitter with a pull side approach. Madsen showed decent bat speed and an aggressive swing in the games. His swing plane was flat making him a line-drive type hitter. He throws his hands well and showed good rhythm when he got comfortable. On defense in the outfield Madsen had a conservative approach to the ball. The ball came out of his hand well. In the INF he was more aggressive to the ball and his arm was more accurate. Madsen is not toolsy but seems to have some feel for the game and plays with aggressiveness. It looks like he could hit a bit at the college level. Consider Madsen a follow at the small college level.
