Trycen Cosier is a 2007 3B from Kamehameha HS, residing in Hilo, HI with a 5'11" 210 lb. frame. Cosier has a thick, strong, and powerful body type. On offense Cosier hits from a slightly open stance and has good bat speed. He is aggressive into the zone and attacks the baseball with a slashing, explosive type swing. Cosier is strong and on occasion can lift the ball for power. He has good balance and certainly brings some physicallity that is intriguing due to his status as a junior. As stated, Cosier flashes some explosion and also at times he can be short to the ball, which is a very good combination. He battles in his at-bats and is going to produce some runs because of that and his raw power. Cosier is a fly ball hitter, which is a good thing because he is a 7.6 runner. On defense Cosier reacts well and is pretty good to his backhand. He makes plays in his area and his hands work pretty well. With a good arm, Cosier's defensive tools fit 3B well, as do his offensive abilities. Cosier has all-around game that fits 3B position and his bat should keep coming on. It is not out of the question to consider Cosier contributing at the D1 level.
