2006 PG Pitcher/Catcher Indoor-Feb 11-12
Kenny Laag is a 2006 RHP with a 6'10'', 235 lb. frame from St Charles IL, who attends St Charles North. He is obviously very, very tall but is surprisingly well proportioned and coordinated for his height. That shows in his present pitching skills. Laag throws from a leg raise delivery with a compact arm action and tight 3/4's release point. He keeps his delivery simple and the result is that he threw consistent quality strikes down in the strike zone with all his pitches. Laag's fastball was 80-82 mph and was fairly straight. His breaking ball was a knuckle curveball at 68 mph that had good spin. He had very good command of this pitch. Laag threw a couple of what looked like 72 mph sliders late in his performance that had very good quality to them and he should continue to develop this pitch if that's indeed what it was. Laag is a big young man who definitely has the potential to get better. Follow closely.
