2006 National Underclass Showcase
Ben Burmeister is a 2009 3B/P/1B with a 6'1", 200 lb frame from Boulder, CO who attends Fairview HS. Ben has a strong well-developed build with good present strength for his age. At the plate Ben has an aggressive approach with a short swing that has good leverage. He has good power potential but needs to work on keeping his weight back. His hands tend to drag some in his swing. In the field Ben has clean actions but really needs to work on speeding up the game a little bit. He waits back on the ball too long and lets the ball play him too much. On the mound Ben throws from a long arm action and throws strikes with good run on his fastball. Ben is a great student that should attract the attention of many small to mid-level college programs.
