Kyle Neathery is a 2008 MIF/P with a 5'11'', 175 lb. frame from Haughton, LA, who attends Haughton High School. Named to the Top Prospect Team at this event. Neathery has an athletic frame with present strength. He had a solid sixty time, but has much better game speed on the bases and in the field. Defensively he has plus actions with smooth footwork and good hands. Neathery has good range to both sides, and has body control on slow rollers. Solid arm strength across the diamond with good arm speed. At the plate he hits from a slightly closed to straight away stance with a slight crouch, and has good bat speed through the hitting zone. Neathery uses the whole field, and shows projectable power. On the mound he showed his arm strength with a fastball that topped out at 84 mph with good cutting action. He gets a good downhill angle to the plate, and did not allow a hit in his inning on the mound while striking out 2. Neathery has great upside, and is an excellent student as well.
