Ashton Pittman is a 2008 OF with a 5'9'', 160 lb. frame from Los Angeles, CA, who attends Bishop Montgomery HS. Lean and athletic frame with quick actions. Defensively he moves to the ball well in the outfield with athleticism, and he gets good reads on fly balls. Pittman has good arm speed and his throws have online carry with good arm strength. At the plate he is a right handed hitter with good bat speed from a slightly open stance. He takes an aggressive swing and does not get cheated at the plate. Pittman has a good bat path and the ball jumps when centered. He is a gap to gap hitter with some pop in his bat. Once he gets on the bases, he shows his quickness and instincts running the bases very well. Pittman competes and is a fun player to watch. He has great upside to his overall game and is a player that must be followed. He is a good student as well.
