Conrad Flynn is a 2007 RHP with a 6'3'', 208 lb. frame from Midland, TX who attends Robert E Lee. He has a strong and angular pitcher's body and has gained strength and width in his hips and legs since the last time we saw him. Flynn has a compact, quick arm action and a high 3/4's release point. He has good direction to the plate on his fastball but tended to land closed and spin off on his curveball. Flynn's curveball was his best pitch, he got over it well and it had consistent hard 12/6 break to it. His fastball was 87-88 mph and pretty straight and Flynn pitched to spots with it to set up his curveball. We've seen Flynn in the low 90's in the past; he's thrown a lot of innings this spring and it might have shown a bit.

Conrad Flynn is a 2007 right hand pitcher from Midland Lee HS, residing in Midland, TX. Flynn has a power pitcher type body. He has wide shoulders and a broad upper body on a plus 6'3" 190 lb. frame. He is presently strong and still has room to fill out. Flynn was the first pitcher to take the mound at the showcase and in a normal showcase he would have been one of the very top prospects. As it was, he was ranked #43 among PG National Top 85 pitchers and has a chance to move past many that were ranked ahead of him. Flynn pitches from an over the top slot and has a two part backside arm action, making deep extension after separation. His line to the plate was good and consistent. A good indication of him reaching his ceiling as the years go by is that Flynn has a strong lower half that works well. His fastball topped at 90 and sat in the 86-89 mph range. He tilted it well in the zone with some natural movement on the arm side. It can be expected that he will steadily gain some mph in the coming years as his body continues to fill out. Flynn's breaking ball is a good one. He showed a 71-73 mph curveball with downer rolling action and demonstrated good command of that pitch. He should be able to use it for both outs and for strikes. Flynn's change-up is also a quality secondary offering. It was 75-76 mph with good life, a very usable pitch. For a young, power type righty, Flynn has a very nice three pitch mix and an idea of what to do on the mound. With his projectable body and good arm, he is one to follow closely. Expect him to get plenty of attention from top D1 programs and if he can take his game up a notch in the spring, he should get favorable attention from the area scouts in Texas.
