Bert Olsen is a 2007 C/P/1B with a 5'9'', 200 lb. frame from Atlanta GA, who attends Episcopal School. He has a short, stocky build with good present strength. Olsen ran the 60 in 7.54 and threw 72 mph during drills with a best pop time of 2.00. He received the ball well behind the plate during the games and was a strong target. He tends to get long in his throwing actions during the games and can shorten his footwork out front. Offensively, Olsen has a quiet, simple approach that takes advantage of his strong hands and short arms. He keeps his swing short to the ball and uses the whole field with a quick line drive swing. Olsen squared up on the ball a very high percentage of his BP and game at bats and looks like a high average hitter in the box who doesn't try to do too much and has a feel for hitting.
