Riley Matheson is a 2023 C/ with a 5-11 165 lb. frame from Cushing, OK who attends Cushing. Strong build with room to fill out. Ran a 7.68 second sixty-yard dash. Worked out defensively as a primary catcher. Uses a high even stance with good receiving actions. Flashed good footwork behind the plate gaining ground well into throws. Displayed good arm strength with developing transfers and accurate carry to the bases topping out at 72 miles per hour from behind the plate and posting a 2.08 second pop time. Right handed hitter. Employs a even stance with a high hand set and a little leg lift trigger. Showed a slightly downhill barrel path with good hand speed to and through the baseball creating solid contact to the middle of the field. Utilizes a line drive approach looking to drive the ball through the infield into the outfield for base hits. Great student.
