Alex Franklin is a 2024 RHP/2B, SS, OF with a 5-3 93 lb. frame from Oak Ridge, TN who attends Oak Ridge. Young, square shouldered frame with a lean, projectable build, will continue to grow and add strength at maturity. Ran an 8.62 60-yard dash. Primary righthanded pitcher, works exclusively out of the stretch, full arm action through the back working to a high three-quarters release point. Arm speed will continue to develop with strength, fastball topped out at 55 mph, pitched to contact and induced weak contact off of the barrel; worked around the zone and mixed in a curveball. Longer strides moving towards the ball both in the infield and outfield, similar full arm stroke on throws with a shorter release, fields ball closer to body, works around the intended base on throws from the outfield. Righthanded hitter, begins with a wide base and a high hand set in the box; upper body dominant swing and utilizes a leg lift trigger for timing. Employs a contact oriented approach, shorter path and stroke working to and through the ball, can implement additional extension out front. Worked to all fields, occasionally gets uphill with path.
