Gabriel Brito is a 2024 1B/LHP with a 5-9 200 lb. frame from Gadsden, AL who attends Gadsden City. Ran a 8.02 second sixty. Primary first baseman with a stocky build. Did a really nice job of picking the ball at first base in game and during workouts with quick anarchy hands and the flexibility to go get the ball. His foot work on the double play feeds is good getting the upper body in a position to make a clean accurate throw. On the mound he repeats the delivery while working compact through the side step into the leg lift. The lower half works on line to the plate allowing him to fill up the zone with the fastball at 75-78 mph with some cutting action away from left-handed hitters. The curveball shows average spin traits with good 1-7 tilt through the hitting zone as the primary off speed pitch. Was able to get the changeup to the bottom of the zone a few times with depth fading arm side at 68-70 mph. Left-handed hitter, using a big leg lift trigger to get into the lower half as he gets to a stronger launch position. The bat path works with some loft to the bat path impacting the ball best to the pull side with flashes of some power when he gets on plane early. Excellent student. Named to the Sunshine Gulf Coast Top Prospect List.
