Colby Arceneaux is a 2007 MIF/P from John Curtis Christian High School in Lockport, Louisiana, with a strong 5'9'', 183 lb. frame. Defensively he has good arm strength from the infield and outfield. In the infield he has a quick arm with good hands and nice footwork. He gets good carry on his throws from the outfield, and moves to the ball well. Arceneaux did have an injury that affected his sixty time, as well as his range defensively. At the plate he is a right handed hitter who hits from an upright stance with a no load approach. He has good bat speed with solid swing mechanics, and looked much better in live games. During batting practice he was getting under balls trying to lift the ball, but in the showcase games he had a smooth line drive swing plane. He looks like a player that will be much improved this spring and summer after he gets more reps in. He is also a very good student.
