Cody Luther is a 2007 OF/RHP with a 5'7'', 125 lb. frame from Walford IA, who attends Prairie HS. He has a small framed young body. Luther has good body life and running speed and ran the 60 in 7.13. He showed nice defensive skills in the outfield, running good routes and aggressively chasing balls down. His arm strength played well. Offensively, Luther had a very sound fundamental swing. He stays very balanced in the box, gets the bat moving well and stays on the plane of the ball a long time. Luther stays inside the ball on most swings and hit some nice line drives up the middle and to the opposite field. He looks like he's probably a high average hitter at his high school level. Luther is a good overall athlete with very sound baseball fundamentals; his next step will be when he adds more strength. He is also a good student.
