Spencer Zaputil is a 2009 1B/OF with a 6'1'', 195 lb. frame from Auburn CA, who attends Placer HS. He has a strong, physical and broad build. He appears to be close to physically mature. Zaputil is a young hitter with some strength and hands that work for him with the bat. He really uses his hands and wrists in his swing. For the most part he showed a pullside approach and consistently got his barrel to the ball on-time. His hand path shows promise at times though he generally was pull conscious, creating length in his swing. In the field his hands work around the bag and he moved aggressively to the ball. He presents a nice target for the infielders to throw to. Follow this young hitter, he could come on with the bat.
