Shayne Quersher is a 2021 UT/RHP, SS, OF with a 6-0 155 lb. frame from Middleboro, MA who attends Middleborough. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and a lean build, has room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran a 7.57 60-yard dash. Worked out around the field, graded best from the outfield, fields the ball closer to body, full arm action through the back with a higher lead arm, shows accuracy on throws, short stride through the ball. Fields the ball out front in the infield, quick transfer into a similar full arm action, worked around the bag, takes shorter steps to the ball. Also pitched, chest high leg raise at start, works to high three-quarters release point; fastball topped out at 71 mph, incorporates lower half well into drive down the mound. Gets slightly higher with release of curveball, shows 12-6 shape with late break up to 60 mph; worked around the zone well. Right-handed hitter, begins with a closed stance and a relaxed set up with a high hand set and back elbow. Long and linear swing path through the zone, repeats swing and gets the barrel to the ball. Can continue to incorporate additional lower half into swing, showed comfort working to the middle of the field, keeps hands inside the ball. Very good student.
