2004 West Coast Top Prospect Showcase
Daniel is a 2005 grad from Servite High School in Southern California with a tall projectable 6'2" frame with broad strong shoulders. Daniel has an easy paced delivery with good balance and an easy release out front. He throws with a full arm circle in back and a low 3/4's release point. He showed us four solid college pitches. His fastball topped out at 85 mph with some tailing action and should get faster in the future. His 71 mph curveball has some tight spin and Daniel throws two types of change ups, a splitter at 73-75 mph that has some good tumble and a straight change at 69 mph. With solid present tools and athletic ability and the potential to improve, Daniel should attract plenty of attention from college coaches. He is a good student.
