Daniel Franchois is a 2006 right handed pitcher/third baseman from Katy, TX with a large durable frame at 6'2", 195 pounds. He throws from a high ¾ to overhand arm slot with an upright delivery with some upper body stiffness. He has a fast arm that follows a ¾ arm circle with medium effort. His fastball topped out at 87 mph with cut action, occasional sink, and downward plane. His curveball was at 68 mph and had a tight 11-5 break with depth and was delivered with good arm speed. He also flashed a slider, which showed 2-plane movement at 72 mph. He also showed a splitter that had nice drop. He attacks the zone with good command and he has good pitchability. His body is projectable and he will be a high level prospect with draft potential for 2006. Daniel is a very good student.
