Adam LaValla is a 2008 LHP/1B with a 6'0'', 175 lb. frame from Simsbury CT, who attends Simsbury. LaValla has a medium sized frame with a lean build. He pitches from a H 3/4 arm slot with a long arm action. LaValla has nice mechanics and pitches with a slow tempo delivery. He uses a high leg kick and maintains good balance through his delivery. He throws a fairly straight fastball and spotted it well deeper in his outing. LaValla throws a big 1/7 curveball with some depth. He spots it down in the zone and has potential to be a nice downer curveball. LaValla also throws a change-up that has arm side run on it. His change-up is presently his best pitch. At the plate, LaValla starts with a straight stance and gets his front foot down a bit late which causes timing issues. He makes consistent contact and looks to keep his hands inside the baseball. LaValla is a good student.
