Zac Crumpler is a 2008 C/1B with a 6'3'', 195 lb. frame from Wilson, NC who attends Wilson Fine HS. He has a big, athletic frame and could get really strong down the road. Crumpler has the tools to be an offensive threat at a premium position. He hits from a wide stance with a still start and has very little lower half in his swing. Even at that he created good bat speed late at the ball and drove some balls hard to the middle of the field and to right field. He has lift in his swing when his arms are extended. Some adjustments to give him a trigger and some help from his lower half could really unleash his swing. Defensively, Crumpler shows surprising athletic quickness for his size. He's light on his feet and catches with energy. Crumpler has raw arm strength and he threw 75 mph during drills with a best pop time of 2.05. His throwing footwork and release need lots of fundamental work and he was close to 2 sec on his pop times on shear arm strength and athletic ability. Crumpler is a good athlete with lots of next level tools to develop. He is also a good student.
