Tanner Stroup is a 2026 LHP/OF with a 6-3 190 lb. frame from Altoona, PA who attends Altoona Area. Large, long frame with strength & athleticism present, and plenty of projection remaining. Primary left-handed pitcher, utilizes a full wind-up delivery from the third base side of the rubber. Lifts the leg up to the letters before breaking into a shallow arm path and releasing the ball from a high three-quarters slot. Repeats the operation well and remains balanced over the rubber. Quick hip turn prior to driving down the slope. Fastball showed life through the zone, ultimately peaking at 89 mph with spin up to 2255 rpm. Slider was well-tunneled and displayed sharper 1-7 shape. Changeup showed late fade and killed tons of spin. Demonstrated impressive command of all three pitches and sequenced his mix effectively. Struck out the side in his first inning of work during live action. Projects for an uptick in velocity as he continues to physically mature and add strength to his frame. Secondary outfielder, attacks the ball with urgency and works through it with aggressive actions. Pulled down hard before releasing the ball from a high three-quarters slot. Tons of present arm speed. Delivered accurate throws and recorded arm strength up to 91 mph from the outfield. Right-handed hitter, starts in an even base with a high hand set-up. Utilizes a simple toe-tap trigger for timing before working into a slightly uphill bat path. Has legitimate bat speed with tons of strength in the hands. Good lower-half usage present. Turns fast to the point of contact and stays over the ball. Created loud impact and leverage to both gaps. Recorded an exit velocity of 91 mph. Plus runner, ran a 6.58 sec sixty-yard dash. Excellent student. Named to the 2024 Pittsburgh Indoor Showcase (Saturday) Top Prospect List.
