Watson is a 6-3, 195 lb first baseman from Florida with a pro-style athletic body. Watson showed some speed for his size in running the 60 in 7.37 on the slow track and threw 77 mph across the infield. He could probably play some corner outfield as well as first base. Watson hits out of a balanced stance and generates some serious bat speed with wood. He has a hand hitch that he doesn’t get through before starting his swing and gets the bat moving from a low hand position, which makes his swing a bit long. A few adjustments could really improve Watson quickly as a hitter as he has the strength and raw physical tools to be a highest level hitter. He did show some real present power when he got the bat head into the hitting zone in time. Watson is a very good student as well. Very interesting power prospect.
