David Hum -- Hum is a left handed hitting junior catcher from Arkansas who really impressed us both with his bat and his style of play. Hum is a well proportioned athletic body with present strength and the chance to get even stronger. He has some looseness to his actions and really plays with a relaxed confidence. Hum has excellent hitting mechanics at the plate and generates excellent bat speed. He’s got the type of bat speed that’s going to get the pro scouts very interested as well as the college recruiters. Hum turns on the inside pitch very well but showed us the ability to use the entire field, too. Hum’s best defensive tools are in his hands. He frames the ball very well and receives it with easy, comfortable actions. Hum’s arm strength is good. Left handed hitting good catchers with his bat are very difficult to find. Hum is an excellent student, also. He's a must see for pro scouts and college coaches.
