2014 Futures Game Rosters

2011 Perfect Game All-American Lucas Giolito was considered the top high school arm in the country in 2012 and now has risen to be considered one of the top arms in the minor leagues as a part of the Washington Nationals organization. Giolito was taken by the Nationals with the 16th
overall pick in 2012 and has already proven to be a sound investment by posting a 2.59 ERA over 87.1 innings with 9.5 strikeouts per nine innings pitched so far in three seasons across three levels of the minor leagues.

Giolito will be representing not only the Nationals, but also the U.S. Team in the 2014 SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game which will be held on July 13 at Target Field as part of this year's All-Star Game festivities. The Futures Game is one of the top events of the year to help showcase the best minor leaguer prospects in the game and provide them a national stage to give their teams’ fans something to look forward to in the coming years.

Of the 50 players selected to play for both the US and World teams, 13 were listed on
Baseball Prospectus' preseason top 101 prospect list.

Giolito is one of 13 former Perfect Game All-Americans to earn the honor of being selected, joining Joey Gallo, Henry Owens, J.P. Crawford, Daniel Norris, Kris Bryant, Justin O’Conner, Robert Stephenson, Jesse Winker and Corey Seager on the U.S. Team. Carlos Correa, Francisco Lindor, and Javier Baez will be playing for the World Team.

Gallo was named the MVP of the 2011 Classic, while Correa was selected No. 1 overall in the 2012 MLB Draft.
